Logitech Solar Folio - iPad

Logitech Solar Keyboard Folio for iPad 2 and iPad 3 (3rd Generation) (920-003907)This keyboard has almost everything you could hope for in such a small package!What I like:- The keyboard layout is fantastic! Logitech did a great job at putting all the keys in just the right places. There is just enough room in between the keys that hitting two keys at once is rarely ever an issue.- The keyboard is NOT cheap rubber! Although very hard to tell from the pictures online, it is made out of grey plastic on a plastic base, and NOT RUBBER. The feedback when typing is very similar to a MacBook keyboard...plastic, but sturdy!- This keyboard is smart! The two positions (really three if you count opening the tablet so the keyboard is on the back of the iPad) are recognized by the keyboard as such: in "typing" position all the keys operate as you would expect and the alternate functions using the fn & 1-delete keys will perform various functions such as volume, copy/paste, etc.; in "media" position, the alternate functions are performed by hitting the ctrl-delete keys without the need for the fn key. The keyboard has a sensor inside that recognizes where the iPad is in each layout. (It even turns the keyboard off when flipped behind the iPad!)- This keyboard has all the right holes in all the right places! The docking area for the iPad has a hole for every input you need, including the speaker AND back camera...sometimes overlooked by folio cases...that's right booqpad agenda, I'm looking at you!- This keyboard DOES NOT DIE! As long as you place the solar cells up when not using the folio, you should never run out of power when typing again!What could be better:- After reading all the reviews and seeing the Logitech Ultrathin, I wish the build quality was a little more solid...but maybe that is comparing apples to oranges. This is a folio, doesn't need to be charged, stays together all the time, protects the iPad (front and back), and offers more than 1 angle of operation!- It's expensive. Right now, the keyboard folio runs for $129.99 MSRP about everywhere. I'm sure the solar battery is what makes it so pricey, but the rest of the folio is made out of either plastic or some rubber-ish materials which should justify some sort price cut in version 2.0- It's a little tricky to close at first. The whole trick to closing the folio is focused on the placement of the solar battery (that little silver and red cylinder). If you put the edge of the iPad behind the cylinder when closing...it will close...but it's not pretty and probably not good for the folio. I've found that by lifting the iPad a little, sliding back to the front edge of the battery, and then closing the folio; you'll have no problems. Maybe I'm making this more of an issue than it really is, but definitely something that can be designed better for Solar Folio V2.0.- It opens on its own...but very rarely will this be an issue. Just think of how many times you worry about a book opening when in a bag...not that often, right? Although it's not a huge issue, I will definitely add it to my suggestion list for the next time I sit down for a brainstorm session with a Logitech design engineer. :PEnd thoughts:Although there are some downfalls, I definitely recommend this keyboard folio for its layout, simplicity, small form factor, and ample protection.

Close, with one critical design flaw

I picked this up at best buy the other day and I have already returned it. The overall design of the product is stylish and practical with one very critical design flaw: there is nothing keeping the folio closed except the weight of the keyboard. The magnetic closure that you feel when opening and closing the box is because there are magnets in the packing NOT in the folio. This means that, if you are not holding the folio properly it will fall open. So, while the keyboard is comfortable and responsive, the folio does not add a lot of bulk (as far as keyboard folios go), and the two viewing angles are creative and practical, the lack of either a magnetic closure or band to keep the case closed is a deal breaker (especially at such a high price point). Logitech had to be aware that this would be an issue, which is why there are magnets in the packaging, creating a false sense that the case magnetically seals itself closed. My advice: go with the Ultra-Slim Keyboard Cover instead (if you are worried about covering the back of the iPad, simply attached a Belkin Snap Shield or similar product).

Good Stuff:- Easy setup- Two angles to use the screen. One for typing and for media watching.- I will give it average+ for sturdiness.- Keyboard - All the keys feel good to type on except for the Spacebar (see below).- Easy to carryBad Stuff:- The space bar is horrible. I keep having to backspace to add space between words. There is something wrong with the design. I am now more focused on the space bar issues than what it is I am typing. I am hoping that it is just an issue with my keyboard, however, I have heard spacebar issues while searching in the web.- I wish there was a creative way to make sure the folio does not open up by mistake while the iPad is stored away.Update from May 15th.I like this keyboard, but it was too bulky for me along with lingering spacebar issues. I believe the space bar issue was specific to mine since the design cannot be this bad. I wish it had a way of having it staying closed. Having a lack of clasp worried me that it would fly open. However, I will still say that it is a good balance of decent keyboard with protection for the iPad.I returned it and instead got another Logitech keyboard (Ultrathin model). This key board is beautiful and fits with the overall look and simplicity of iPad. Every key is responsive. However, there is no protection for the back of iPad. I guess, I can't have it perfect. this made my Xyboard into a mini laptop with a real keyboard. the magnets makes it quick to set up and close, and looks professional.Only issue is you cannot plug it in while using. but that may be more of an XYboard issue then the keyboard. would be better if the plug in was on a different side, and not the bottom.

Arrived broken

I ordered this and really like the removable keyboard and the mouse (although the mouse takes some getting used to). The problem was that the keyboard is held in place by four plastic pieces and one was broken before I even opened the box. To me, this is a red flag in terms of quality. I have returned the keyboard and will order another in hopes that this was just a fluke, but I do caution others to handle this product with care. I also noticed that it was very difficult to get the tablet (Xyboard) in and out of the case, so I will probably just use the keyboard without the case most of the time since I really like the case I normally use (similar to this Motorola XYBOARD 10.1-Inch Leather Slim folio Case With Multi-Angle Stand by Blurex). Like I said, I'm going to order a replacement, so I still think this is worth what you will pay for it on Amazon; with that said, it is NOT worth the whopping one-hundred thirty to one-hundred fifty plus dollars you'll pay for it at a Verizon store!I'm a busy student and having a keyboard for my tablet is a HUGE bonus; I can typically avoid lugging my laptop to and from class, which is great, and I don't have to struggle to take notes on a touchscreen - which would be a huge pain. This would be a great gift for someone in your life who is addicted to their tablet and wants to use it like a small laptop, as long as they aren't too abusive with their gadgets.

I bought an off brand , which is better by far, although keyboard is smaller, the off brand has holes for power and volume keys , skin is thicker and has a snap closed strap. And keyboard removes allot easier. I will be buying two more off brand covers for my other two tablets.

BEST SUNCARE EVER!!!

I am a lifeguard, diver, surfer, fisherman, paddleboarder and all around water dog living in South Florida, and this is by far the BEST suncare I have ever used! wont run, doesnt smell, doesnt burn my skin or eyes and doesnt come off even 8 hours in the water. I put it on once and it stays on all day. All our ocean rescue lifeguards use it, our aquatic center lifeguards and everyone who is serious about sun protection. Worth every penny and you wont be disappointed.My wife says it is so good that she cant get a tan when she puts it on!!

Well I took a chance and got him WATERMANS face stick 55 SPF and also the 55SPF loation/ cream. it cost me $60 for the 2 items last year. This year I asked if he wanted more of the WATERMANS for XMAS or go back to VERTRA? He said this WATERMANS was the great and lasted almost the entire year. so This year I purchased the same WATERMANS items and the price for sure has gone down. Last year it was about $60 for the 2 items and this year I spend about $35. Basically those who are not sure what one to go with... WATERMANS seems to be the better choice for these waterpolo players. So if you know anyone who is in the sun/ water for long durations (vollyball, swimming, surfing etc), its a guaranteed good buy

I've tried tons of sunscreens for surfing and I can confidently say this is my favorite. Headhunter or other zinc oxide products don't come close. Other sunscreens either came off or gave me a weird feeling but this stuff feels natural. This stuff sticks to my skin and it feels natural. Its seriously really hard to get off without soap and water which is a good thing when you get thrashed in the water. The bottle will last you a while. Best way to apply it is spread it on your hands and quickly spread it on your face. If you take too long to smear it on your face it will get gunky quickly and will be harder to spread. So do it quick and your ready to go.

For a casual gamer, 'Surf's Up' stands as the quintessence of a perfect summer release -- all play, no work. The in-game graphics are sufficient and (thankfully) have been significantly upgraded beyond those experienced on the PS2 version. The visuals are shiny and slick with realistic wave design and execution. Several coastlines stand ready to be rocked and to the gamer's delight, none of them are especially similar. When it comes to aquatic sports games, nothing is worse than the misery and tedium of monotony; 'Surf's Up' skillfully navigates around this all-too-common trap.Despite all of its positive attributes, the game remains incredibly narrow in scope; experienced or hardcore gamers would be prudent to shy away from 'Surf's Up,' seeing as the title features a rather modest campaign mode (approximately three or so hours) and a deficit of immersive content. The gamer selects a penguin-of-choice, chooses a venue, and rides waves. He or she collects trick points based upon the number of skillful maneuvers he or she successfully completes. Surfing Penguins! I couldn't have thought of a better kids game to start the summer. Surf's Up - The Video Game, is the movie tie-in for - yes you guessed it - Surf's Up. This children friendly surfing game let's even the youngest of players perform cool (and highly unrealistic) aerial maneuvers and stunts. Teens and adults looking for a "real" surfing simulation should look elsewhere (try Transworld Surf for the Xbox). The game offers several different surf spots that are based on locations from the movie. 1-4 Players can play together using splitscreen mode and for those of you looking for a break from surfing, try Leaf Sliding on one of three different tracks. The game offers several unlock-able characters, surfboards and surf spots. Which thanks to the easy difficulty should be no problem to unlock. If you have kids or like Penguins or like Surfing or all of the above; you should give this ride a try.

Surfing Grandma!

I bought this game for the grandchildren to play when they come over, but I had to try it out first and now I'm hooked. The graphics are absolutely breathtaking to start with. I could never get the hang of using the nunchuck and the other controller at the same time in any other game the kids played. This one has a wonderful teaching area that lets you practice each move until you get it right. And you use every imaginable move on both remotes - I think the grandkids are going to get a real surprise when they see Grandma - I just might beat them at this game! I can't believe how much fun it is to play this, and now I can't wait for someone to play it with!!
